Security at ISB

Construction security measures

As we move into the construction phase of our Facilities Master Plan to augment and further improve the ISB campus, the school has taken a number of precautions to ensure safety and that educational processes are minimally disturbed. Please be assured that students, teachers and parents will remain safe with the following measures in place throughout the year:

• While there will be construction work all day on non-school days, it will only begin from 3:30 pm on school days.
• All construction workers receive a daily safety briefing before the start of each shift. The briefing includes reminders of the safety requirements of working on the ISB site and the precautions that need to be taken to ensure the safety of the ISB community.
• Designated construction worker areas and construction areas will be contained by fencing.
• There will also be designated construction worker walkways between construction areas. These walkways will be marked by yellow paint and supervised by additional ISB security guards.
• Construction areas and the construction schedule have been established to ensure separation of construction workers and the ISB community.
• School building evacuation routes have been adjusted, marked, and communicated to ensure safe and quick exits from the school building when necessary.
• An additional sidewalk has been installed in front of the Fitness and Tennis Center to support safe and quick passage around the designated construction areas.
• Most exits from the rear of the main ISB building will be closed this year. One exit from the ES Cafeteria and one exit from MS/HS Cafeteria will remain open.
