Bus Office

ISB contracts with an independent bus company, SakTran, to provide bus transportation for ISB students - this service is entirely optional. Buses stop at a variety of convenient locations, servicing ISB families in most areas throughout Beijing.

Buses run with both a driver and trained monitor(s) who supervise the students.

Buses are scheduled to arrive at ISB around 8:00 am. There are normally three afternoon departures, one regular departure at 3:35 pm and two After School Activity (ASA) departures at 4:40 pm and 6:00 pm.

Wednesday is early dismissal. Some very young students, PreK 3, PreK 4 and KG go home at 11:30am. The regular departure on Wednesday is 2:35 pm, with ASA buses departing at 3:40 pm and 6:00 pm. Because less buses are used for the ASA departures, not all regular bus stops are serviced by the ASA buses.

The bus service is based on point-to-point (not door-to-door) pick-up and drop-off. For a new bus stop to be created, 3 student riders are required at or near to the desired location, and the location is half a kilometer (500m) or more away from an existing bus stop location. ISB may not be able to provide the bus service to families who reside in remote locations and the direction of traffic / road barriers and accessibility are also important considerations when creating a new bus stop.

You can register for the ISB Bus Service through PowerSchool which you can access here. Once registered, you will receive an email with your child(ren)’s bus arrangements for the new school year.

Once we receive your request for transportation, the ISB Bus Coordinator will contact you via email with bus information including the assigned bus number, bus monitor’s contact information, After School Activities bus letter and the pick-up and drop-off information.
