The International Schools' University Fair, took place on Monday, October 23, 2017, at the International School of Beijing. This was the fourth fair organized by the Beijing East Consortium of International Schools, and ISB was honored to host representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities from all over the world. Hundreds of parents, students, teachers, and guidance counselors from ISB and many other schools in the Beijing community turned up for the opportunity to speak with university officers representing top schools from the US, UK, Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, China, and Australia. A variety of schools attended including Duke University, The University of Manchester, King’s College London, and the University of Hong Kong.
“This is the biggest fair in Beijing, so we wanted to come here and talk to a lot of students in one go, get to know a little bit about them, and introduce the university and its courses to them,” said Mandy Zhang, Senior International Officer with King’s College London, “Along with entry requirements, we had many more in-depth questions, particularly about student life, teaching quality, and careers performance after graduation.”
ISB’s high school counselors have been assisting each of our grade 12 students to whittle down their list of colleges and universities; reducing their target list of universities and building timelines and strategies for completing their applications. We are certain the fair proved useful to these students and to the ISB community, as well as to the students, parents, and staff from many other Beijing international schools who attended.
