The book Tarps Off! propped up on a vase

An International School of Beijing (ISB) teacher’s debut children’s book makes great summer reading for families.

The Elementary School’s Stephanie Dracz and her husband wrote Tarps Off for sport-loving youngsters everywhere. The title is a reference to an ice hockey celebration, and hockey lingo takes center stage in this light-hearted tale of a father and son enjoying the little things in life.

Committed to a healthy, whole-child education, ISB is encouraging students to take a break during the summer vacation, have some fun, and enjoy activities like exercise and reading. Ms. Dracz’s dedication to write and publish Tarps Off in addition to her full-time job allowed her to fulfill a dream of becoming an author. What an inspiration to her students!

This isn’t Ms. Dracz’s first sporting success either – she was a member of a bronze medal-winning U.S. synchronized swimming team in the 2004 Olympics. ISB teachers really are a multi-talented bunch.

Tarps Off is available on Amazon or by scanning this QR code. ISB community members can also borrow a copy from the Elementary School Library.
