Social Studies

The Social Studies Department mission statement states: ISB is committed to a program of learning that encourages international awareness and understanding so that our students become positive, responsible and contributing members of our global society. The social Studies Program offers a wide range of subjects and courses designed to help students to:

• Think clearly and critically about human behavior and values so that they may make reasoned choices;
• Develop knowledge, ideas, and skills that will contribute to their understanding of themselves as part of their society culture, and heritage;
• Apply their knowledge and abilities to the welfare of people in a variety of cultural and global settings;
• Develop an understanding of the role of the environment and its impact on people and their lifestyles.
