TUESDAY 2nd December ART TALK
Time: 11am Venue: Central Art Gallery

The second outing for art aficionados is going to be on Tuesday 2nd December. We are going to learn about some of the interesting Chinese artists work at the Central Art Gallery.

The art gallery is located at Riverville (close to Chateau Regalia and Merlin Champagne Town and 15 minutes from ISB). The talk will last approx 1 hour followed by lunch for those with time.

Please email Ingrid at ingridduffypta@gmail.com if you would like to join this art talk, open to anyone –but numbers need to be limited as space is restricted in the gallery. Lifts can be organized from ISB or meet at Riverville. We hope to organize another art walk in January – watch this space!

Guest Speaker Series - "Handling Stress - strategies for students and their parents."
Venue:MPR, Wed. Dec 10, 9:30 -11:00 am

ISB's Educational Psychologist, Steve Sutherland, will talk to parents about handling the stress in our environment.
He will share strategies to help kids be proactive about identifying stress and learning to deal with the stress. Steve also promises to help parents with techniques on how they can enjoy a less stressful life!

Create at PTA Cookie Exchange - Friday, Dec 12th, 9.30 am to 11 am, Glass Box

Anyone who loves to bake homemade cookies should begin gearing up for the “Create at PTA” Cookie Exchange! The “Create at PTA” group wishes to host this cookie exchange as a great way to have an informal get-together, and share in delicious HOME-BAKED cookies in this festive season!

If you are not from North America, you may find yourself asking, “What is a Cookie Exchange?” The basic idea behind a cookie exchange is to arrive with one type of home-baked cookie and leave with six, eight or even a dozen or more different types of delicious cookies! As well, it’s a great way to meet new people and catch up with old friends.

To join in please bring 4 dozen cookies (HOME-BAKED, not factory-made e.g. Oreos, Chips Ahoy).

We’ll taste one dozen of the cookies at the Exchange and the remainder will be exchanged and taken home for your family to enjoy! Go festive with reindeer sugar cookies or even Nutty Raisin Oatmeal; like a thousand snowflakes, everyone’s cookies are unique!

How to Participate in the “Create at PTA” Cookie Exchange

1. Contact the PTA by clicking on the following link (http://www.isb.bj.edu.cn/contactus_form.aspx?contact=pta) and simply filling out the form. Please put “Cookie Exchange” in the subject line. This will just give us an idea of how many people to expect.
2. Bring four (4) dozen HOME-BAKED cookies to share. Cookies should not be factory-made (e.g. Oreos, Chips Ahoy).
3. Bring a large container to transport and carry away your cookies.
4. Share your cookie recipe, bring copies!
5. Attend the Cookie Exchange on December 12, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. located in the MS Glass Box at ISB, and have a great time!
6. If you have a funny or sentimental story behind your cookie recipe, please share it!
