Early Childhood (EC 3) students must be toilet-trained and must be three years old on or before the first day of School.
EC 4 students must be four years old on or before October 31.
Kindergarten students must be five years old on or before October 31
Grade 1 students must be six years of age on or before October 31
Students for other grade levels are placed in grades that most nearly approach the chronological age for the student taking into account the academic history.
Children who enroll in ISB from schools with different school calendars (i.e. January to November vs. August to June) will be placed in the grade they are currently attending (if enrolled in the beginning of the ISB school year), or in the grade which he/she has just completed if enrolled in the second semester in ISB.
