A modern, 50,000 square meter school building, nestled in the middle of a 133,500 square meter campus in the countryside setting of the Shunyi District of Beijing, became ISB's new home when it opened in January 2002. The school's new location in the northeast section of the city, 15 minutes from Beijing's international airport, puts it near many expatriate housing compounds (four of the largest are just 5 minutes away). ISB in Shunyi is also near the airport expressway.

- A 600 seat theater with orchestra pit and other performance spaces
- A stadium with competition size soccer pitch and track
- 4 fully-equipped gymnasium and a separate weight room

- A 25m, competition size swimming pool with diving boards
- A 10,000 sq. meter outdoor learning environment for elementary school students
Separate early childhood and upper elementary, middle and high school sections let each division create a distinct identity. Each section is designed around a courtyard (after the Chinese tradition). Each maintains its own classroom and meeting places. Each accommodates easy access to administration and guidance offices. The elementary school section contains a nurse's office and health room. The middle and high school share a nurse's office and health room. No detail has been spared in the extensive planning for ISB's Shunyi campus. The collective planning effort, with input from ISB teachers, parents, students and community members, ensures that the needs of our students and the ISB community have been taken into consideration. The result is an educational institution of a world-class design that meets and exceeds international quality standards, putting ISB on par with other leading international schools around the world.
